Look carefully at the image above ........ Do you see the Camels walking towards the sunset or out of the picture towards you???????
Not sure?   How can you be!  You were not there when the picture was captured at the end of a searing hot, dusty day in the Chalbi desert in northern Kenya quite a few years ago.  Look again. It could be either way, right?
We often swear blind that  something 'IS' or 'IS NOT'.  A problem arises here because we frequently we do not have all the facts, the three dimensional picture, to back up our opinions.
As Henry Ford observed, apropos another issue altogether, "think you can, think you can't .... both ways you are right."  It just depends on what information you have to arrive at whatever decision you make.
Most people initiate their response to a given set of visual, verbal or auditory prompts either by drawing on what they have been taught or from past experience ..... which often results in an intransigent posture to the 'facts' as they see them.   Intransigence may be supported by a belligerent stand like... ".........are you bloody blind, ... or stupid, ... or both.....? of course the camels are walking ......................................the sunset. It's bloody obvious!"   Some people probably the majority, wilt in the face of such aggressive posturing. They will begin to doubt their own powers of observation and end up totally overwhelmed by the viewpoint of the more aggressive crowd. You'll appreciate that I'm also referring to topics far removed from Camels in the sunset.  Include topics and viewpoints endorsed by the 'big Gorillas' and rammed down your throat via the media as the inviolate truth. 

All of which ultimately means that you are NOT encouraged to THINK.
All that is most unfortunate because neither what you have been taught nor what you have learned from experience may be adequate background for an accurate analysis of the new set of criteria that may confront you. This is especially true in a rapidly changing environment and where vested interests may want you to think in a particular way!  And make considerable efforts to program your thinking to suit their agenda!  And, please, in case you are wondering, all this has nothing to do with 'conspiracy theory'.
To hold rigid opinions concerning almost any issue may be a costly mistake that can deprive you of some exceptional  opportunities. Some of these might be powerful income generating opportunities, or perhaps just a challenge to convention which may have less tangible rewards ... if any.
