At the mere mention of Network Marketing, (NWM) Multi Level Marketing (MLM). Independent Field Agent (IFA) .... and several other acronyms that essentially mean the same thing, many people immediately retreat into their conservative shells. Sometime in their lives someone (the media, stern government warnings ...). have informed them that .. it's a scam, it's illegal, it's a pyramid scheme, you'll lose their money (indeed, some have!) and a lot more besides.
The truth is that virtually all business platforms, families, sports teams, recreational clubs, franchising, nations ........ are pyramidal in structure. Our focus should be on what constitutes a legitimate business scheme and what constitutes an illegal scam.
NWM is a legitimate business platform which is used by some of the largest corporations on the planet as one of several marketing devices engaged to sell their products. Unilever and Coke are among them. It is not the business platform that is a problem, it is the way it is applied. Because it is a platform that can be readily manipulated to appeal to idiots who want to 'get rich quick', many scam artists use it to do just that ... at the expense of the idiots. That has given NWM a bad name. Government and big business are also not wild about the idea because it undermines their ability to control you from cradle to the grave ... usually by ensnaring you in the fixed salary and the 'debt trap'.
All business platforms have been used by scamsters to relieve the careless punter of their hard earned income ... remember ENRON ... one time darling of the establishment? Good!. Don't forget the lesson ... even your own great care and dilligence can still leave you holding the worthless stock certificate. Believe me, when these big scams go belly up, don't imagine for one moment that either big business or the government are going to come rushing to make good your loss.

It has been said that in Network marketing only those at the top of the 'pyramid' make money while all the faithful footsoldiers barely get by. This is true only to the extent that those who do not prosper in NWM are simply unable or unwilling to do what it takes to succeed. These people would be equally useless in traditional business platforms where they do no more than sell whatever skills they may have, for a fixed monthly 'wage' ... but their inability to perform is masked by the fact that they are trading their time for a given remuneration (salary) by the 'boss' or 'company'. The boss, who expects to make more money out of workers to whom he pays wages ... may eventually figure that they are 'carrying' a non-productive worker and fire them. Government 'carries' a vast cadre of incompetents but because governments get their money 'free' from taxation these clowns can ... and do ... continue in non-productive employment indefinitely. .....!!
In traditional business, (the company) if the sales people are not employed on a salary basis, performance commissions paid to salespeople are usually paid on a single level. This simply means that whatever sales you, as a salesman, make, determines what you earn, and what your maximum earning capacity will be. There are only eight working hours in a day ....!
In Network Marketing the salesforce earn commission on several levels of commission payout. The commission on a single sale goes to several rather than just one salesperson. How this commission is shared depends on the the commission structure put in place by the 'company'. Many different commission sharing plans are operating in the marketplace but the essential element is that YOU are now in a position to earn commission on the salesmanship of other people ... not just your own. But the other people from whom you will earn an overide comission are only those in YOUR trading structure.
The advantage of this system is that your earnings are hugely leveraged as compared with the traditional platform. Your earnings are not fixed by way of an agreed salary.
When the salesforce earnings are fixed by way of salaries it means that when the 'good times' economic cycle is in full swing, the company CEO and top management get huge pay packages made up of basic salaries, performance bonuses, share options and other perks. In Network Marketing companies, all the networkers will prosper because income is base to top driven. Everyone earns more because there's money in the marketplace, enabling an increase in sales.
The bottom line is that in traditional selling you can be mediocre, and still get by while in Network Marketing this will severely curtail your income potential. If you are competent there is no limit ... you can earn more than the CEO!!! Isn't that oh sooooooo democratic. No wonder 'Big Business' hates it!
This is a very skinny outline of the NWM business platform. Help yourself to Google and you'll find a million pages both for and against it. Use your best judgment but be carefull not to be swayed by the self interests of governments and big business. They both want you in their chain gang. It's YOUR LIFE we are talking about here ... and this is not a dress rehearsal! Just by the way ... it might be worthwhile finding out what some people like, Donald Trump, Stephen Covey, Robert Kiyosaki, Tim Sales, and a host of others who can afford to speak their mind (without fear of being fired!!!) have to say about this business platform.You'll be pleasantly surprised.
In the final analysis the one element that these people have discovered is that the leveraged structure of the Network Marketing platform provides the capacity for anyone to engage, at minimal cost, the ultimate wealth building factor .... ME.
